Entry Requirements ...
The following is required from each candidate:
1. The Application Form, completed in its entirety. Incomplete applications will not be considered for review. You can complete the application by submitting the form below.
2. Up to two completed personal evaluation/letters of recommendation forms. One from a high school faculty member/guidance counselor; the second is to be from a non-related adult outside the high school faculty - preferably an employer (or community leader if submitting on behalf of volunteer work) whenever possible. No other recommendations should be attached.
3. A School Sanctioned Transcript of All High School Records. Unofficial/electronic transcripts will be accepted.
4. In a maximum of 600 words, choose and write on at least one of the topics below:
- Tell us how you embody our core values of consideration, collaboration, quality, commitment, and integrity.
- An experience that inspired you to get involved within your community and how you took action.
- A learning you took away from a moment of adversity or failure.
Timing
- Submit all applications and forms between January 1, and April 26 of each calendar year.
- Recipients will be selected and notified shortly after the deadline period, once all applications have been reviewed.
- Scholarship sent to the bursar prior to the start of the fall term.
Scholarship Information
- A one-time scholarship of $4,000 will be awarded to the selected graduating senior who will be attending a 4-year college during the following fall term.
- Although the intent of the Hogan scholarship is to recognize the outstanding nominee, should two or more candidates rank equally in the judgment of the selection committee, the level of need will then be considered the final criteria.
- The scholarship will be sent to the bursar of the college or university for dispersal where the scholarship winner will do his or her undergraduate work.
