Refined Design, Basement Remodel

In this project, the homeowners were looking to refresh their space by breathing some new life into the basement. By taking their needs and vision for their home, the experts at HDC were able to transform this basement into a functional and luxurious space.

First, the fireplace needed to be cleaned up. The mantle was removed to create a more simple and sleek design. Next, the outdated bar was taken out to help open up the floor plan and make a nice play nook for their kids. Then, the stair treads, risers, spindles, and railers were refinished to help revive the worn staircase. The stairs were then given a brand-new carpet runner to add some more character. The old arched opening was in dire need of an update as well. Two black barn doors were installed to help define the spaces. On the other side of those doors, a brand new workout space was created with mirrors, shock-absorbent gym flooring, a treadmill, and more.

Finally, the whole basement was updated with new LED lighting and new carpet throughout. After all these updates, this basement remodel has become a more efficient and elegant space for both the adults and the kids.
